Sailing

Sailing is definitely one of my favourite hobbies. I feel so free when I'm sailing, feeling the spray and the wind in my face. Out on the sea whizzing along (or not if the wind drops!) you have to focus on the tasks at hand, like not falling out of the boat, or getting caught in lines or wires, and pulling in the sail, and letting out the sail, so you don't worry about any problems you have. They all get left behind on the beach or in the harbour when you leave. Sailing is great because anyone can do it, no matter how old, what size or male or female. All you need is a boat, a body of water and wind! I go out sailing in the summer with my dad, my brothers and my cousin. Its great, until the wind drops, or you end up head to wind. Both of these are ways to stop. Once you do stop its fairly hard to get going again, but not impossible. One way is to push the boom out and sail backwards, pick up some speed and turn when you're going fast enough.  But its good craic, even when you get stuck.
